The general rule is that an employer is vicariously liable for the actions of its employee.  However, specific considerations arise in the context of sexual assault allegations.  This presentation will focus on the factors a court will consider when determining whether or not an employer will be held vicariously liable for a sexual assault committed by its employee.  An explanation of the factors considered by the Supreme Court in the Basely decision as well as the recent Ontario Court of Appeal decision in Ivic v Lakovic will  be discussed as well as specific issues relating to public entities.

The registration fee includes meals and admission to all of the business events planned for the full Conference, including taxes. It does NOT include your accommodations.
Guests are entitled to utilize all facilities at the resort. Guest fees include attendance at all meal and social functions during the conference.

All fees associated with “No Shows” incurred by SPIAO will be charged to the registrants who fail to attend the conference
