Description: Consumption of alcohol on public entities premises can occur in a variety of settings. When losses occur, public entities may find themselves entangled in complex, multi-party litigation where the insurance limits of others may be limited and exposure to joint and several liability becomes a harsh reality. We will discuss principles of commercial host liability, social host liability and other relevant aspects of occupiers’ liability potentially impacting public entities. In addition to discussing key cases from our courts, we will interactively discuss this topic from a risk management perspective
